The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has selected eight new organisations to develop Large Language Models (LLMs) and domain-specific Small Language Models (SLMs) under the IndiaAI Mission. This group joins the four companies previously chosen for the initiative: Sarvam, SoketAI, Gan AI, and Gnani AI.
In addition, the ministry unveiled the logo and key flagship initiatives for the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on 19–20 February 2026 in New Delhi. The summit will be guided by three sutras: People, Planet, and Progress.
The event will highlight the transformative role of AI in enabling inclusive development while fostering sustainable and equitable progress for all.
